Help us and the Japan-in-a-Suitcase program give local students to have a chance to experience Japanese culture and global understanding.
Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that unleashes the power of people and organizations, like the Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth, to transform our communities and our world.
Since 1970, the Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth has remained committed to providing quality programs in arts and culture, education, business, public policy, and international exchange, and create opportunities for friendship and meaningful interaction.
The Japan‑in‑a‑Suitcase (JIS) program is a major part of our program offerings – an onsite educational program that gives local school students in DFW area a chance to experience Japanese culture. This program ignites students’ curiosity and opens their minds and hearts to deeper global understanding.
However, accelerated changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic forced many schools to suspend activities, and others to migrate to online environments, including JASDFW.
Currently, we have been developing a virtual JIS program. We are hoping that we will be able to continue to offer this program opportunity to schools who are in financial hardships. Your support is critical at a time like this and it will help to cover the cost of online program and its creation.
