Video Journaling for Fluency
Train Your Brain to Speak and Think in Japanese!
Course Description
This course is designed for upper-beginner to intermediate learners who are ready to move beyond basic sentences and start expressing their own thoughts in Japanese. Through guided video journaling, students will practice speaking regularly, building confidence, fluency, and natural expression.
By engaging in consistent output and reflection, this workshop helps train their brain (脳トレ)to gradually process and produce Japanese more intuitively and comfortably. The goal is for speaking Japanese to feel less like translating and more like communicating.
Each week, students will respond to prompts, record short videos, and receive feedback to refine their grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
By the end of the course, students will be able to communicate more comfortably and clearly in everyday Japanese.
This course is intended for:
- Learners who can read and write all hiragana and most katakana
- Learners who can produce basic sentences in both writing and speaking in Japanese—especially for introducing themselves and sharing personal background (hometown, job, family, pets, hobbies, favorite foods, etc.), as well as describing daily routines
- Learners who are comfortable using technology and able to record and share videos
- Learners who are highly motivated and willing to commit to recording themselves at least 5 days a week for 1–2 minutes
