Please join us for this celebration in the spirit of the Games of the XXXII Olympiad, which will take place in Japan this summer. This page currently has basic information and events as part of the Olympic Day will be announced soon.
An official program of the International Olympic Committee, Olympic Day was created with the goal to promote participation in sport across the globe regardless of age, gender, or athletic ability. More than just a sports event, it is a day for the world to get active, learn about Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect. The Olympic Day pillars – move, learn, and discover – are prompted in every corner of the globe. Olympic Day creates opportunities for people to participate in sport across the globe regardless of age, gender, or athletic ability. National Olympic Committees (NOCs) together with other stakeholders organize sports, cultural and educational activities, and promotions throughout the world.
The Irving-Las Colinas Olympic Day Committee is comprised of over a dozen local and regional organizations, all focused on advancing our community and delivering exceptional opportunities. Under the leadership of the U.S.-Mexico Cultural & Education Foundation, the Committee exemplifies the strengths of public-private partnership, all leveraging their talents and abilities to bring Olympic day to North Texas. Olympic Day Irving-Las Colinas is open and accessible to the public at large, not just for Irving city residents. Event partners include the Irving Marathon, Visit Irving, the City of Irving, Las Colinas Association, Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth, Dallas County Utility and Reclamation District, Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce, Dallas College North Lake, Greater Dallas Veterans Foundation, and Toyota Music Factory.
