Logistics and Supply Chains in U.S.-Japan Business and Trade

The annual Japan Currents Symposium returns as in-person event. For 2022, the conversation will focus on logistics and supply chains, which represent both challenges and solutions to recent global trade shortages. As the COVID pandemic has drastically affected the availability of key products and resources, the U.S. and Japan have been looking to innovative models to secure their economic security. Moreover, Japan is the U.S.’ fourth largest trading partner and the U.S. is Japan’s second largest partner, accounting for approximately $206 billion of cross-border exchange. Please join us for this essential discussion on how logistics and supply chains will impact U.S.-Japan business in the coming year.

**The Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth will continue to monitor the COVID situation in the City of Irving and Dallas County. Additional information will be released on this website.

Topics addressed in the past have ranged from international trade to politics, security, and the globalization of Japan’s economy. From 2014 to 2019, this program was known as the Japan Update Symposium and was part of a series presented by Japan-America Societies across the U.S., made possible by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation and the National Association of Japan-America Societies (NAJAS). Starting in 2020, this program is known as the Japan Currents Symposium, again part of a series presented by Japan-America Societies across the U.S., made possible by the Embassy of Japan in the United States and NAJAS.
