How Tech Companies in the U.S. and Japan are Responding to the COVID-19 Speakers

Blair Bakr has led business continuity management (BCM) and a portfolio of workplace service functions at Hitachi Vantara since 2016. Hitachi Vantara is the digital infrastructure and solutions subsidiary of the Japanese industrial conglomerate Hitachi.

Hitachi Vantara’s BCM group works on global contingency plans to prepare for unforeseen events such as Covid-19. Blair is currently engaged in helping create a plan for what the post-Covid-19 ‘New Normal’ will look like for Hitachi Vantara’s 11,000 employees, and how that will impact the workplace.

Blair’s Strategic Sourcing team works closely with IT to review and procure technology to meet the changing needs of the business. Blair previously worked in leadership positions in other high technology companies, including almost 20 years at Oracle.

Blair’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s in Engineering from UT Austin and an MBA in Finance from Santa Clara University.

Mariko Misumi currently works in the Cloud Networking Business at Cisco System in Japan, responsible for nationwide channel strategy and execution for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 partners. Ueshima joined Fujitsu in 1985, developing hardware for high-speed and optical communication products.
