Young Ambassadors Program: TRAVEL TO SENDAI

Application Process:
Applications and teacher recommendations must be received by JASDFW before Friday, March 16, 2018 at 12:00 PM (deadline extended!). Semi-finalists will be selected to participate in interviews. The delegation of 6 Young Ambassadors will be announced on or before April 13.

Participation Fee:
♦ There is no fee to participate
♦ Participants will be responsible for obtaining a passport and for passport-related fees and spending money.

Be a Young Ambassador.
The one-week program includes:
♦ Homestay with a Sendai family
♦ Local school visits
♦ Interaction with city officials
♦ Volunteer activities
♦ Tour of famous Sendai locations
♦ Airfare and all ground transportation in Japan
Eligibility:
Applicant must be:
♦ Dallas/Fort Worth area high school student (in grades 9-11)
♦ U.S. citizen
Students will be selected based on their ability to be good ambassadors. Applicants should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, leadership ability, community involvement, international interest, and an open-minded attitude.
