President, UPS International
Scott Price serves as President of UPS International. In this role, Scott oversees the company’s business operations in more than 220 countries and territories outside of the United States.
Previously, Scott served as UPS’s Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer. He was responsible for strategic planning, Global Business Services, and the company’s Advanced Technology Group, as well as driving and facilitating transformational change. These efforts included identifying and executing opportunities for profitable growth within existing business units and in new markets and product segments through the identification of resources that may be redirected to the highest strategic benefit and greatest shareholder value.
Before joining UPS, Scott served as Executive Vice President of Global Leverage for Walmart International. He led Global Sourcing, International Technology, International Logistics, Fresh Manufacturing, and key strategic leverage initiatives for the company’s international segment. During his tenure with Walmart, he also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Walmart Asia.
Prior to his time with Walmart, Scott served as CEO of DHL Express Europe. While at DHL he held several key leadership positions including CEO of DHL Express Asia-Pacific and President of DHL Express Japan, DHL’s largest market in the Asia-Pacific region. Preceding his time with DHL, Scott spent a decade with The Coca-Cola Co. During that period, he assumed various roles of increasing responsibility, including country leadership positions in Japan and as a director and region manager in China.
Scott is a current board member of the U.S. India Business Council and the World Food Program U.S.A. He served as chairman of the National Center for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the only U.S. business association focused exclusively on facilitating American private sector input to the APEC process and APEC’s 21 member countries. He was also one of three ABAC (APEC Business Advisory Council) members appointed by the White House in December 2016. Additionally, he was a member of the board of trustees for the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
A Montana native, Scott earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree and a master’s degree in Asian studies from the University of Virginia.
General Manager, Logistics Strategy Dept., Mitsui & Co. (U.SA.), Inc.
Kantaro Takenaka is General Manager of Logistics Strategy Department at Mitsui USA headquarter in New York.
He has mostly been working in the logistics field during his 25 years of career in Mitsui, involved in freight arrangement, vessel chartering, supply chain improvement, inventory management, etc.
His department now is responsible for supporting business and trading activities of Mitsui and group companies in Americas through functions of logistics planning, trade compliance, and insurance risk management.
They work closely with Mitsui offices in other regions as well in order to capture the dynamic changes of global trading and logistics environments.
CEO and Managing Principal, Foremost Quality Logistics
Over 40 years of experience have provided Tim Feemster with a variety of hands-on problem-solving situations in economic development, real estate, transportation, logistics, distribution, and marketing. Tim is quoted frequently in the economic development, real estate, & supply chain press and makes over 20 keynote presentations a year to professional organizations.
Feemster has experience as a director and senior manager in three manufacturing companies, a consultant, an executive in two third party logistics providers, and a practice group leader in two commercial real estate firms. Feemster has been responsible for economic development strategy consulting, industrial & manufacturing facility site selection, transportation & warehouse operations, network optimization, strategic planning, marketing, and private fleet management.
Feemster holds an M.B.A. in Marketing from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and a B.A. in Mathematics from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, and is a Six Sigma Green Belt. Feemster is an active member in the Warehouse Education and Research Council (WERC.org), where he is a Past President; Council Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP.org), Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC.org), DePauw Alumni Board (DePauw.edu), a board member of the DePauw DFW Regional Alumni Chapter, and a member of the board of directors at CentrePort Canada, a 20,000 acre industrial development.
Vice President, International Logistics, Transplace, an Uber Freights Company
Mollie Bailey Haney is passionate about helping logistics companies make the right connections and succeed – especially in the international arena. Mollie has more than 25 years of international transportation experience. She is responsible for international operations and regulatory compliance for Transplace’s ocean and air forwarding business. Transplace’s nearly 2,000 employees depend on the success of the companies’ overseas partners, particularly in times of economic downturn as we are seeing now with COVID19.
Prior to joining Transplace, Mollie worked for CH Robinson International for fourteen years in all facets of the global operations division and was the General Manager of the DFW International office. A graduate of the University of Colorado with a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and Political Science, Mollie served over two years with the Peace Corps. On assignment in Africa, Mollie and her team worked closely with villagers to create sustainable ecosystems to ensure a local, robust food supply during the dry season. She later graduated from The Citadel with an MBA in Business Administration.
A distinguished author and expert in logistics, Mollie has written 15 blogs published at Transplace.com, as well as numerous articles for industry trad media. Mollie is a sought-after presenter. She recently participated in the Institute for Supply Management’s (ISM) roundtable addressing US/China tariffs.
Director, Cargo Planning and Sales (The Americas), Japan Airlines
Masaru Uchida is Director of Cargo Planning and Sales for the American Region at Japan Airlines. He is responsible for sales strategy, corporate sales, interline and alliance relationships, and marketing activities in North and South America.
In his current role, Masaru has implemented numerous new cargo business opportunities and has improved the airline’s network and online and offline connectivity and from Mexico, Central and South America to Japan and throughout Asia. In recent years, a focus has been growing the airline’s e-commerce and Pharma businesses.
Prior to his current position, Masaru was Sales Director for the Western Region with his territory including the states of California, Washington, Oregon and Arizona. It was during this time that Japan Airlines had an all-cargo Boeing 747 fleet in addition to belly cargo capacities of its passenger aircraft.
Before joining Japan Airlines in 1987, Masaru held several Asian-focused sales roles with Flying Tigers while based in Boston and Los Angeles. He has over 30 years of experience in air cargo transportation and is an expert in the international shipment of a wide-range of commodities from perishable goods such as fruit and seafood to high-tech materials such as semi-conductors and automotive parts.
Hiroki Takeuchi is Associate Professor of Political Science, and Director of the Sun & Star Program on Japan and East Asia in the Tower Center, at Southern Methodist University (SMU). He received his B.A. of Economics from Keio University in Japan, his M.A. of Asian Studies from University of California at Berkeley, and his Ph.D. of Political Science from University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Previously, he taught at UCLA as a faculty fellow of the Political Science Department and at Stanford University as a postdoctoral teaching fellow of the Public Policy Program.
Dr. Takeuchi’s research and teaching interests include Chinese and Japanese politics, comparative authoritarianism, and international relations and political economy of East Asia, as well as applying game theory to political science.
He is the author of Tax Reform in Rural China: Revenue, Resistance, and Authoritarian Rule (Cambridge University Press, 2014).
