Japan-in-a-Suitcase: Kamishibai, Japanese Storytelling

How did one-inch boy save a princess? Learn about this Japanese folk tale presented by the Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth.
Kamishibai is a traditional form of Japanese storytelling that uses large pictures accompanied by a dramatic narration. The presentation also includes a general introduction to Japan, including locating the country on a map; identifying the concepts of city, state, and country; and learning simple Japanese words and basic greetings. This presentation also incorporates traditional aspects of Japanese culture, such as origami to give you a well-rounded view of Japan and Japanese life.
*Origami activity requires scissors, any letter size paper and pen.
Japan‑in‑a‑Suitcase is an educational program that gives participants a chance to experience Japanese culture, customs, and contemporary life.
