[Asia Society Texas Center in Houston] Tsuruya Kōkei: Modern Kabuki Prints Revised & Revisited

OVERVIEW:

The Asia Society Texas Center in Houston is celebrating the 30th anniversary of contemporary Japanese kabuki print artist Tsuruya Kōkei’s first solo show in America. Through the use of fragile materials, blended with the dynamic images of traditional Japanese Kabuki, Kōkei blends tradition with innovation to create truly unique works. This exhibition features all of his actor prints from 1984-1993, and an opening reception will be held on September 19 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

Admission Information:

Admission is free for all Asia Society members and for all children ages 12 & under, and $8 for all Nonmembers. Students and Seniors with ID can receive a special $5 rate.
