Sendai Delegation Visits Dallas

Koji Sakai and Tomoko Takei of the City of Sendai’s Culture and Tourism Bureau visited Dallas from December 8 to December 12, 2016. Sakai-san and Takei-san participated in a meeting at the Japan-America Society to plan activities to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Dallas-Sendai International Friendship Cities relationship. The officials then visited City Hall and took a behind-the-scenes tour of the Dallas Marathon.

Sakai-san and Takei-san also participated in a variety of sightseeing activities, such as lunch at Reunion Tower; visits to the 6th Floor Museum, George W. Bush Presidential Library, and Fort Worth Stockyards; and a tour of the Japanese Garden at Kidd Springs Park, currently the subject of a renovation campaign. Japan-America Society members, Board Members, and staff bid farewell to the visitors at the Bōnenkai Forget-the-Year Party, held at Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse in Richardson on December 11.
